Seeking Stage Manager
Do you love theater, supporting new plays, staying organized, communicating with a group, and making things happen?
Reading Theater Project is currently seeking submissions for a stage manager for our fall production and spring play readings. The position received a stipend. In collaboration with the Artistic Director and the Play Director, duties include the following:
— Communicates the needs of the production between cast, crew, and RTP leadership, including rehearsal schedule and reports
— Assist in managing casting calls and auditions for performers
— Takes notes at production meetings with members of the creative team
— Notes blocking and technical cues for the production.
— Runs rehearsals and performances; Supervising pre-show activities
— Training assistant stage managers and run crew to work backstage during performances
— Collaborating with house management team during run of show
— Works with Production Manager to develop and execute tech week and strike plans
— Other tasks as needed.
Fall Production commitment is September through early-November. Rehearsal and performance in Reading, PA. Rehearsals are typically held weeknights (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays) and weekend afternoons (Saturdays).
