Support Local Arts
Reading Theater Project exists to bring new work to life in Greater Reading and Berks County: premieres, staged readings, and stories that haven’t been told on any stage before. We believe in the value of our artists, playwrights, actors, and community.
It’s why we build community and collaboration into everything we do, including fundraising and volunteerism. We honor stories and voices that might not otherwise be heard. We make room for artistic exploration and growth, hold ourselves to excellence in craft, and, perhaps most importantly, stay committed to inclusion and accessibility. We do it all with joy and humility.
Rooted In Our Values
RTP uses a Pay-As-You-Decide and Pay-It-Forward model to keep the arts accessible to everyone. It’s a rare combination, and it means tickets cover only a portion of what it takes to put something new in front of an audience. Our work simply can’t be done through ticket sales alone. The rest comes from people who believe in our mission and support our work. We depend on people like you.
What your support makes possible
- New voices on stage:
- Readings, workshops, and full productions that give local and emerging playwrights a place to develop their work.
- Artists who are valued for their craft:
- Stipends that honor the people who make every performance happen.
- Open doors:
- Pay What You Decide admission, so no one is turned away for cost.
- A home for the work:
- Securing a stationary home where consistently high production values can be maintained.
Get Involved
There’s more than one way to be part of what we’re building.
GIVE. A one-time or recurring gift directly supports artists and new work.
SPONSOR. Local businesses can sponsor a single production or a full season, with benefits tailored to what matters to you.
VOLUNTEER. Help us run events, greet audiences, or bring your skills to a Committee.
SHOW UP. Come to a reading, bring a friend, and stay for the talkback. Being in the room is part of how new plays grow.
Join Us at an RTP Event
Our fundraisers and events are purposely driven by the same things: a love of the arts, a love of a good story, and the chance to bring people together to support and celebrate both. Our community keeps growing, and every event is an open invitation, whether it’s your first time with us or you’ve been around since the beginning. Visit our events pages and join in the celebration!
