About the play:

In 1922, Philly tough guy and small-town thief Whistlin’ Jack McConnell was revealed to be a woman. How did a young woman get away with dressing as a lad for 16 years? How did Whistlin’ Jack McConnell fool so many people? In this action-packed one-person performance, Jack’s former fiancee Lettie Harrison sets the record straight – recounting everything from Jack’s early days to their first meeting to the day everything fell apart. Based on a true story, “They Say: A Love Story” is a sometimes humorous, often poignant tale of love, betrayal, and the encounters that revolutionize our hearts.
